Dear Vincentians, As we are all aware, communication is a vital part of everyday life, as well as a means towards the service we do for others. The Internet and social media is an important tool that can help us to do that. That is why we are about to take that next step in our organization.
Recently, I attended the Society’s National Convention where I learned about the way other branches of our organization are using social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, to spread the word about their good works and volunteer opportunities among other things. After careful consideration, I believe they are on to something that could aid us in Western New York.
We have set up a Facebook page and a Twitter account for the Buffalo Society of St. Vincent dePaul. I am still learning the ins & outs of both sites, but I have an intern who is helping me through the process. As we continue to update both pages, we would like you to become involved as well. In the boxes to the right, you will find instructions on how to set up an account for yourself, as well as a simple outline on how to use each page if you do not have that knowledge already.
